Life Threatening Phobias ?

Most of us have some type of fear, although there are some whose doubts turn into Phobia definition. Any phobia is an strong fear of something that is not life threatening, but the head inter-operates it as life threatening. A few of these fears are not incredibly rational, but for someone who has a phobia, it?s not easy to think about their fear or anxiety rationally. This could make some phobias end up being potentially life threatening.

One particular dangerous phobia is actually pharmacophobia, or the fear of prescription medication. This can mean that although a person has a dangerous disease or harm and needs to take remedies to save their daily life; their phobia stops them from using it. Some people build this for several distinct reasons, either they a negative experience with medicine in the past, such as arriving off of pharmaceutical remedies, or they may be terrified of choking, side effects they may have got, or they simply sense it does more harm than good. System this particular phobia, you should speak open in addition to honestly to your doctor about it. Your doctor should be able to support you in finding a way through that or how to deal with this.
Cibophobia is a fear of food items that can become an obsession for the individual who is suffering from this disorder. A lot of times it is incorrectly recognized with different eating problems that are actually a mental issue with how food items affect the human body, however in the case of cibophobia anyone is actually afraid of meals itself. In some cases, anybody refuses to eat a number of different things which can lead to unique health issues due to an improvement in diet. For more extreme cases, the person might want to go hungry than try to eat something in particular and will have a very dangerous outcome. People who suffer from this certainly will talk to an intellectual health professional who can try out different methods such as self-hypnosis, medications and other kinds of therapy in order to assist alleviate the patient on this fear.
People who are terrified of needles normally suffer from trypanophobia. This means that the person can be deathly afraid of hypodermic needles, or any medical procedures which entail needles such as injections, shots or shots. This, like pharmacophobia, can be be extremely dangerous if the particular person needs a life preserving drug or procedure that involves a filling device. This may also go hand in hand using iatrophobia, the fear of doctors, or any other phobia that needs hospitals, doctors, or maybe dentists. There are a lot of people who suffer from this, but they also have found ways about it or remedy. Instead of getting a photo, people may be able to employ a medicated spray or maybe jet injection as well as other methods for medications. In case you have this and want to sort out it, you can see some sort of mental health professional to try and work through your dread.
There are a lot of different sorts of Phobias treatment that may not as life threatening, however they can still disrupt folk?s daily lives. Some people could possibly be misdiagnosed when they show their concerns relating to phobia such as those with cibophobia may be thought to be anorexic, nevertheless they still are very dangerous if they?re untreated. If you suffer from a form of phobia that could be a potential harm to your life, you might see if any life insurance coverage companies cover it. You have to have life insurance, or at least term in the event that you cross and leave your family guiding. Of course, if you suffer from necrophobia, or a fear of death, then you might have troubles considering life insurance or a generating your will.

Judges review a complaint by Japan during the Artistic Gymnastic men's team final at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Monday, July 30, 2012, in London. Britain was initially announced as the silver medalist but Japan questioned the score of three-time world champion Kohei Uchimura on pommel horse, the team's very last routine. About five minutes later, Uchimura's score was revised and Japan was awarded the silver while Britain was bumped down to bronze. (AP Photo/Julie Jacobson)

(AP) ? When there's gold to be gotten, don't ever doubt the Chinese.

When there's silver and bronze on the line, don't count anyone out.

The Chinese won their second straight Olympic title and third in four games Monday, making fools of everyone who wrote them off after a dismal performance in qualifying.

"After getting up from bed I thought we were going to win it," said Chen Yibing, one of only two holdovers from the Beijing squad. "We have the abilities and the skills."

China's score of 275.997 points was more than four points better than Japan, which needed help from a DVR to finish second.

Britain initially was announced as the silver medalist, setting off raucous celebrations at the O2 Arena, Princes William and Harry included. The British don't have a proud history in gymnastics ? barely any at all ? and this was their first men's team medal in a century.

But Japan questioned the score of three-time world champion Kohei Uchimura on pommel horse, the very last routine.

While judges huddled around a video screen, the British partied and Uchimura and his teammates sat stone-faced against a wall.

"I couldn't say anything," Uchimura said. "I couldn't think anything at the very beginning. I was thinking, 'It's fourth, it's fourth.'"

About five minutes later, though, it's silver.

Uchimura's score was revised, with judges giving him seven-tenths more credit for his dismount. Instead of 13.466, he scored 14.166 ? enough to move Japan from fourth to second with a total of 271.952.

Britain was bumped down to bronze, while Ukraine dropped to fourth.

"To win a medal in your home games, I'll take that any day," Kristian Thomas said. "We never actually had the silver in our hands, so there's no real disappointment."

Tell that to the Japanese, who were bested by the Chinese yet again.

Just like everybody else.

"Even after it was changed, I was not too happy," Uchimura said.

China now has gone eight years without losing at a major competition.

The Americans, hoping for their first Olympic title since 1984 after finishing No. 1 in qualifying, lost all hopes for a medal with a dismal showing on pommel horse, their second event. They rallied to finish fifth.

"It didn't go as planned today," U.S. champion John Orozco said. "I can't help but feel personally responsible because I did five events ? I did the most out of everyone ? and I botched on two of them. It hurts."

For the Chinese, it was pure joy.

When Zhang Chenglong finished on pommel horse, China's last routine, he let out a roar. Chen bent over and covered his face with his hands, unable to stop the tears.

The Chinese have been like playground bullies most of the last decade, sauntering into every competition and scooping up as many gold medals as possible ? the last five world titles and at the Sydney and Beijing Olympics, where they won all but one of the men's medals. They probably would have claimed that, too, had they bothered to contend for vault.

This victory may have been even more special because of the team's struggles during the last two years.

With most of the Beijing squad moving on and a rule change putting a premium on all-arounders, China has looked ? dare we say it? ? vulnerable. Chen even tried to dampen the expectations this spring, saying it would be "extremely hard" for the Chinese to defend their title. It didn't get any easier when Teng Haibin, the 2004 gold medalist on pommel horse, dropped out with an injury Thursday and had to be replaced by Guo Weiyang.

An abysmal performance in qualifying only furthered the doubt when they finished sixth. Sixth!

Yet there they were Monday, walking off the floor he way they always do, index fingers in the air and gold medals around their necks.

"We don't have any faults. That's our secret to beat the Japanese and to beat everyone," Zhang said. "In preliminaries, we had a little bit of faults. But tonight was completely perfect."

China doesn't have Japan's stylish elegance, Britain's youthful exuberance or even the Americans' flair for the dramatic. What the Chinese do have, however, is sheer, brute strength, and they simply steamrolled the rest of the field. Chen set the tone in the very first event on still rings, where he is the defending Olympic gold medalist and four-time world champion.

Simply watching the event makes most folks grab their arms and scream for mercy. He flips from one skill to another with silky smoothness ? at one point lifting his head a bit higher as if to say, "Oh, you liked that one? How about this?" The cables stayed perfectly still when he did a somersault into a handstand, the veins bulging in his arms and neck the only signs of exertion.

The Chinese only got better from there, with half their 18 scores at 15.6s or higher. Compare that to Japan, which had five, or the British, who had four.

By the time China got to pommel horse, the last routine, all it had to do was plot a new victory celebration. Sure enough, when Zhang's score posted, the team pulled out big gold stars, and held them in the shape of the symbol on the Chinese flag.

Japan was still waiting to go, but any last chance it had of catching the Chinese disappeared on floor exercise. Kazuhito Tanaka's foot slid out from underneath him on the landing of a tumbling pass, and he skidded forward. He put his hand down and managed to stay upright, but they could not recover from his 13.733.

"Our rivals were not necessarily stronger than in previous years," Zhang said, "so we kept a cool mind."

Gov. Gregoire proclaims Aug. 5-11 Washington Farmers Market Week

The popularity of farmers markets continues to increase across the Evergreen State. Last year, shoppers made nearly 1.8 million trips, many of them repeat visits, to experience Washington?s 160 farmers markets to buy nutritious foods, including fresh, locally grown produce, meats, cheeses and specialty food products.

To recognize strong consumer and farmer support for the markets, Gov. Chris Gregoire, the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and the Washington State Farmers Market Association (WSFMA) are celebrating?Farmers Market Week in Washington Aug. 5-11.

?Washington?s farmers produce some of the best agricultural products around the world,? Gregoire said. ?From our world famous apples to our varied field greens, the goods produced in our state are second to none. And those who live here have easy access to these quality foods. I encourage all Washingtonians to take part in Farmers Market Week and enjoy this fine produce, while supporting our local farmers and small businesses.?

Statewide, farmers markets belonging to the WSFMA reported $39.6 million in sales in 2011, up from slightly less than $39 million reported in 2010. Dozens of other farmers markets that are not members of the WSFMA also facilitate substantial sales, with dollars going directly to Washington family farmers and the local community.

?Consumers will find delicious high quality produce and food products at any of Washington?s farmers markets,? said Dan Newhouse, WSDA director. ?Farmers selling at these markets are the face of agriculture for most people. They show just how important agriculture is for our communities large and small.?

Farmers market leaders support the growth of markets across Washington and ways to improve how markets operate to better serve shoppers.

?We?ve been working hard to support farmers and market managers while creating more opportunities for residents to purchase great, fresh, local foods,? said Karen Kinney, interim executive director of the WSFMA. ?I?m thrilled that we continue to get national recognition in the media for the quality of so many of our farmers markets. If you haven?t been to a farmers market, come see what it?s about.?

Making it easier for markets and vendors to accept shoppers? electronic cards and food-assistance benefits for food purchases has been a priority for the association. Consumers are finding it easier to make purchases without carrying a lot of cash. Nearly 90 percent of WSFMA member farmers markets accept checks from participants in the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (Women, Infants and Children FMNP), 84 percent accept Senior FMNP checks, and 54 percent feature wireless point-of-sale terminals capable of processing SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or food stamps) benefits through an electronic benefits transfer system.

?Accepting these federal program checks and cards, as well as credit and debit cards, are significant steps to meet shopper needs,? Kinney said. ?Washington is a leader in efforts to increase access to healthy food for more of our residents, especially low-income families.?

Parents concerned about their children's slothful ways can do something about it, according to research at National Jewish Health. They can increase their own activity. In the July 2012 issue of the Journal of Physical Activity and Health, Kristen Holm, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine at National Jewish Health, and her colleagues report that, when parents increase their daily activity, as measured by a pedometer, their children increase theirs as well.

"It has long been known that parent and child activity levels are correlated," said Dr. Holm. "This is the first intervention-based study to prospectively demonstrate that when parents increase their activity, children increase theirs as well. The effect was more pronounced on weekends."

In the study, 83 families were enrolled in a family-based intervention designed to prevent excess weight gain among overweight and obese children ages 7 to 14. Parents and children participated in a program based on the small-changes approach promoted by the America on the Move initiative. Children and parents were encouraged to increase their physical activity by walking an additional 2,000 steps per day. Mothers in all 83 families participated in the program, while only 34 fathers participated.

On days that mothers reached or exceeded their 2000-step goal, children took an average of 2,117 additional steps, compared to 1,175 additional steps when mothers did not reach their goal. Father-child activity showed a similar pattern. Overall, for each 1,000 additional steps a mother took, the child took 196 additional steps. The effect of parental activity was most pronounced on Saturdays and Sundays. The researchers speculate that this increased effect may occur because parents and children exercised together more frequently on weekends, and that weekends may be a particularly effective time for parents to foster additional activity by their children.

The effect was relatively short-lived. A parent's current day's activity had the most effect, while the previous day and week had an attenuated effect. Parents' baseline activity did not predict a child's change in activity, although a child's baseline activity did; children who were less active at baseline took more additional steps than did more active children.

New discovery of how carbon is stored in the Southern Ocean

New discovery of how carbon is stored in the Southern Ocean [ Back to EurekAlert! ] Public release date: 29-Jul-2012

British Antarctic Survey

A team of British and Australian scientists has discovered an important method of how carbon is drawn down from the surface of the Southern Ocean to the deep waters beneath. The Southern Ocean is an important carbon sink in the world around 40% of the annual global CO2 emissions absorbed by the world's oceans enter through this region.

Reporting this week in the journal Nature Geoscience, scientists from British Antarctic Survey (BAS) and Australia's national research agency, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), reveal that rather than carbon being absorbed uniformly into the deep ocean in vast areas, it is drawn down and locked away from the atmosphere by plunging currents a thousand kilometres wide.

Winds, currents and massive whirlpools that carry warm and cold water around the ocean known as eddies create localised pathways or funnels for carbon to be stored.

Lead author, Dr Jean-Baptiste Salle from British Antarctic Survey says,

"The Southern Ocean is a large window by which the atmosphere connects to the interior of the ocean below. Until now we didn't know exactly the physical processes of how carbon ends up being stored deep in the ocean. It's the combination of winds, currents and eddies that create these carbon-capturing pathways drawing waters down into the deep ocean from the ocean surface.

"Now that we have an improved understanding of the mechanisms for carbon draw-down we are better placed to understand the effects of changing climate and future carbon absorption by the ocean."

CSIRO co-author, Dr Richard Matear says the rate-limiting step in the anthropogenic carbon uptake by the ocean is the physical transport from the surface into the ocean interior.

"Our study identifies these pathways for the first time and this matches well with observationallyderived estimates of carbon storage in the ocean interior," Dr Matear says.

Due to the size and remote location of the Southern Ocean, scientists have only recently been able to explore the workings of the ocean with the help of small robotic probes known as Argo floats. In 2002, 80 floats were deployed in the Southern Ocean to collect information on the temperature and salinity. This unique set of observations spanning 10 years has enabled scientists to investigate this remote region of the world for the first time. The floats are just over a metre in length and dive to depths of 2km. Today, there are over 3,000 floats in the oceans worldwide providing detailed information used in oceanic climate models.

The team also analysed temperature, salinity and pressure data collected from ship-based observations since the 1990s. The instrument used for this is called a CTD profiler which is a cluster of sensors taking measurements as it's lowered deep down into the ocean to depths of more than 7km.

Matear and Andrew Lenton from CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research in Australia; and Stephen R. Rintoul from Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre in Australia.

This study compliments a paper published in Nature 487, 313-319 (19 July 2012) Deep carbon export from a Southern Ocean iron-fertilized diatom bloom by Victor Smetacek, Christine Klaas, Volker H. Strass et al, which outlines the biological processes involved in how carbon is absorbed in the Southern Ocean.

Eddy A massive whirlpool carrying warm and cold water around the ocean that may be formed when a bend in a surface ocean current lengthens and eventually makes a loop which separates from the main current.

CTD Profiler An oceanographic instrument with a cluster of sensors that measure continuous data of depth, salinity and temperature of the ocean. It is deployed from the deck of a research vessel and lowered down deep into the ocean to depths exceeding 10,000m.

Argo floats Small, robotic probes that collect high-quality temperature, pressure and salinity data. There are more than 3,000 underwater robots swimming in the Earth's oceans at this moment. The probes dive as deep as 2,000m into the ocean for 10 days at a time, after which they re-surface and transmit the data they have collected via satellites. Each float is designed to make around 150 such cycles. http://www.argo.net

The paper Localised subduction of anthropogenic carbon dioxide in the Southern Hemisphere oceans - is published in the August edition of Nature Geoscience (and online on 29th July) by Jean-Baptiste Salle; Richard J.

What're On line Settled Reviews, and Do Online Paid Surveys ...

The simple truth is your opinion counts, and businesses need to know what you believe. Usually you sign up with your marketing and research organizations as panelists that supply surveys focused to your demographic, geographic area and more specific traits that they are looking for. When signing up as a new panelist you will normally have to fill in a form and provide some general information that will support the marketing organization decide if you are a good match for a particular questionnaire. The very best part is that once the business has your page the surveys will normally just deliver you surveys via email that you may answer and complete easily. The basic time needed to complete a specific questionnaire depends upon several things, certainly one of which is your power to sort. The faster that you?re able to sort obviously the faster you?ll be able to perform each survey.Another thing to keep yourself updated of is that there are a whole lot of scam websites out there claiming to be genuine review sites that you will make money on and they?re just a terrible scam looking to get you to invest your time on them, and they?ll pay you nothing. There are a great deal of respected agencies though. One caution is that you get what you pay for, and although you could have to pay a little money to get an to date and real listing of current survey companies it?s really worth not having to discover the hard way doing work without the reward.Typically the survey completion time requires somewhere between 15-30 minutes and they will generally pay between $50-$80 for you performing a survey. You can also visit the Job Centre Online for more information on how you can start making money online by getting a reliable group that works with proper marketing and research companies to get you started today.

Ukrainian minister says Tymoshenko completes medical treatment

KIEV (Reuters) - Former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, whose jailing for abuse of power soured Ukraine's relations with the European Union, has completed her medical treatment at a local hospital, Healthcare Minister Raisa Bohatyryova was quoted as saying on Friday.

Treatment for a back complaint has kept Tymoshenko, President Viktor Yanukovich's main rival, out of jail for almost three months, and Bohatyryova's statement did not say whether the authorities would now return her to prison.

"An international commission which includes German and Ukrainian doctors ... states that the rehabilitation process has been completed successfully," Interfax news agency quoted Bohatyryova as saying.

The West has condemned Tymoshenko's jailing last October as an example of selective justice and the EU stopped free trade deals and political association with Kiev and urged her release.

But Yanukovich has refused to intervene and state prosecutors have instead piled more charges on Tymoshenko. Hearings in a fresh tax evasion case against her are due to resume on July 31.

Tymoshenko, 51, who was a leader of the 2004 "Orange Revolution" protests which derailed Yanukovich's first bid for the presidency, has dismissed all charges against her as part of political vendetta by Yanukovich.

She served twice as prime minister and narrowly lost the 2010 presidential election to Yanukovich.

A coalition which includes her party Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) will be the main competitor of Yanukovich's Party of the Regions in the October parliamentary election.

On Friday, the Healthcare Ministry declined immediate comment and the prison service could not be reached for comment.

Consumer Tech for August ? Technology Contraction is Good for ...

By Richard M. Sherwin

Sony reduces its audio video computer lineup by 60%.? Arch rival Panasonic clips its 3D skews and completely drops some product categories.? Sharp decides not to enter the tablet market and contracts with other manufacturers to jointly produce large screen TVs. ?Korean rivals Samsung and LG had such similar video products that you couldn?t tell which product was which. Dell, HP and Lenovo wind up using some of the same off the shelf parts in their 2013 computers.

I feel very sorry for the 30,000 or more people that these technology behemoths laid-off this year so far. Many of the audio-video and PC devices these makers used to produce were only made to show how big these companies were. In the process, in the last five years, all these companies unnecessarily confused consumers ? and salespeople ? with tons of similar models.

The biggest benefit for consumers? ?This summer and early fall prices will drop even more and models will be cut as factory and manufacturing costs slide down, so you will save time, money and headaches in buying a TV, computer or stereo component.

Of course this will be more than offset by the 15,000 models of Smart Phones you may have to choose from.

Administration projects $1.2T 2012 budget deficit

WASHINGTON (AP) ? New figures released Friday by the White House predict this year's federal budget deficit will end up at $1.2 trillion.

That would make the fourth consecutive year of trillion dollar-plus deficits during President Barack Obama's administration.

The bleak figures, while expected, are sure to add fuel to the already heated presidential campaign, in which Obama's handling of the economy and the budget are a main topic. Friday's release came as the government announced that U.S. economic growth slowed to an annual rate of just 1.5 percent in the second quarter of this year, as consumers cut back sharply on spending.

The White House budget office also predicts for this year that the economy will grow at a modest 2.6 percent annual rate and that the jobless rate will average 8 percent.

"The economic recovery that began in 2009 will continue at a moderate rate and unemployment will gradually decline," Jeffrey Zients, the acting White House budget director said in a blog post. "The economy still faces significant headwinds," he added.

The 2012 budget year ends on Sept. 30. The White House also predicted that next year's deficit will fall just short of $1 trillion, higher than it predicted in its February budget release. The predicted deficit for 2012 actually improved by $116 billion, but much of that was because Congress didn't enact much of Obama's jobs plan.

But the White House promises deficits will drop to about 3 percent of the size of the economy by 2017, in part through $1.5 trillion in tax increases over the coming decade.

The White House report ? released Friday afternoon with the Olympics poised to distract voters for two weeks ? again trumpets Obama's longstanding approach to tackling the deficit. It includes tax increases on families earning above $250,000, already-enacted "caps" on agency operating budgets and modest savings from federal benefit programs like Medicare and Medicaid.

"Since taking office, the president has worked to restore fiscal responsibility," says the OMB report.

Under Obama's budget plan, the total U.S. debt would reach $16.2 trillion by the end of the year and soar to $25.4 trillion at the end of a decade's time.

The government is likely to reach its borrowing cap ? the subject of a fierce fight last summer between Obama and Republicans ? late this year or early next year, which is going to require the next Congress and either Romney or Obama to act together to increase the borrowing cap. That is seen by many as an opportunity to force lawmakers to finally tackle the country's major budget problems.

Romney, for his part, offers relatively few specifics on the budget but promises to bring total government spending down to 20 percent of the U.S. economy by the end of a first term in 2016. That is roughly in line with where it was during Republican George W. Bush's presidency. Government spending now equals 24 percent of gross domestic product.
