LAS VEGAS, Nevada ? ?A 3-year-old girl and two adults were seriously hurt after a hit-and-run driver?in a sports utility vehicle struck them Saturday (Aug. 25) afternoon as they sat a bus stop at the intersection of Owens and Eastern avenues, according to the Las Vegas Sun newspaper.
The three victims were transported by ambulance to University Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries where they were listed in critical condition.
Julio Enriquez, 22, of Las Vegas allegedly fled the scene of the 12:45 p.m. crash, but was caught hiding in an area behind some buildings by witnesses and detained until police arrived at the scene.
Enriquez, an unlicensed driver, was arrested and charged with felony hit and run, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol as well as not having a driver?s license.
The crash took place after Enriquez lost control of the SUV while attempting to make a turn at the intersection. His vehicle drove up onto the sidewalk and struck the three victims.
