Two South Florida men died when a jet owned by a Boca Raton aviation company crashed in the South of France Friday.
Dale Popik, 60, of Delray Beach, was piloting the plane, according to his son-in-law Marc Serota's Facebook page.
Crew member Robert Helton, 24, was also on board when the plane crashed upon landing in LeCastellet, France, his family confirmed.
Michael Helton confirmed his son's death and said he was one of a three-person flight crew but declined further comment Saturday.
The identity of the other American crew member on board -- a 30-year-old woman -- has not been released.
Boca Raton-based Universal Jet Aviation released a statement Saturday confirming that the downed Gulfstream G-IV jet was part of its fleet. The company said there were no passengers on board.
The crash is under investigation.
