Zac Brown Expecting Fifth Child With Wife Shelly Brown

Another baby Brown is on the way! Zac Brown is expecting his fifth child with wife Shelly, his rep confirms to Us Weekly.

"We're excited to share the news that Zac and Shelly Brown are expecting a new baby in early 2014," the rep said in a statement to Us. "This will be the couples fifth child and will join big sisters Justice, 6; Lucy, 5; Georgia, 4; and Joni, 2."

The Zac Brown Band frontman, 35, also posted the exciting baby news on Twitter, writing, "We're excited to share the news that Zac and Shelly Brown are expecting a new baby in early 2014. #BabyBrown."

In an interview with The Boot in 2011, Brown said he and his wife were planning to have a large family.

"We're just gonna keep on going until we get a boy," the country singer, who is one of 12 kids in his family, said. "If that's 13, then I doubt I'm gonna be able to pull that off, but we'll see."

Moto G announcement set for November 13

Sign up page goes live for live online announcement set for just over a weeks time

Up until this point we were pretty sure the Moto G is a real thing, and today Motorola has outright confirmed that with a sign up page and a date for the announcement of the new device. Everything is set to go down on November 13, and interested parties can sign up now for the live online announcement. 

From recent leaks we're expecting the Moto G to be a more budget conscious offering in the Motorola stable, with a similar look to the Moto X but with trimmed down size and specs. A recent UK based leak suggested the Moto G might be hitting the market at just £135, which if true has us extremely interested. 

Whatever the Moto G turns out to be, we'll be following everything as it happens on November 13, so keep it locked to Android Central.

UFC veteran David Louiseau knocks opponent out three times in just 15 seconds

It seems that everyone is talking about MMA fights being allowed to continue for far too long, lately. There was Junior Dos Santos' memory-erasing drubbing at the hands of Cain Velasquez at UFC 166 and then there was Jessica Andrade's brutal, extended beating of Rosi Sexton last week.

While we're on the subject - here's a video of UFC veteran David Loiseau being allowed to knock out his opponent from a fight this past weekend not once, not twice but three separate apparent times in just fifteen seconds by an overwhelmed referee. Loiseau last fought an lost in the UFC back in 2010 but has rattled off four straight wins since that time.

His most recent came last Friday against Mike Kent at the Extreme Cage Combat 18 card in Canada. A left hook from "The Crow" just seconds into the bout put Kent out and flat on his back for the first time.

Instead of rushing in to stop the contest, however, the referee watched on as Loiseau followed up with strikes on the ground. His head hitting the ground opened Kent's eyes back up.

A right punch to the head moments later appeared to knock Kent out for the second time, however. Unbelievably, the referee missed that as well and didn't step in until Loiseau's punches had woken up Kent and put him back to sleep for a third time a few seconds later.

Refereeing is an very difficult job and most will never have the combat understanding, vision and reaction time to do it well. Those that can't really should be trained more before fighters' lives are placed in their hands or should not do it at all.

In the Dos Santos and Sexton fights, we worried about refs, corners and doctors allowing game fighters to take damage for too long while not mounting their own effective offense. In Loiseau and Kent's bout, the decision to stop the fight should have been much easier because Kent was out cold. The referee clearly had difficulty recognizing when Kent was unconscious on two separate occasions, before finally picking up on it when it happened for a third time.

Congratulations to Loiseau, who simply followed the rules and kept fighting until the ref stepped in. We wish Kent a speedy and as close to full recovery as he can have.

Morning Report: Roy Nelson wants rematch with Daniel Cormier, calls first fight 'a sparring match'

Fresh off seeing friend and training partner 'King' Muhammed Lawal drop a close decision to Emanuel Newton at Bellator 106, UFC heavyweight Roy Nelson believes it mirrored his own recent defeat to Daniel Cormier at UFC 166.

"I didn't feel like it was a fight, just a good sparring match," says Nelson regarding his bout with Cormier. "I was back in the gym on Monday [following the fight]. I just got out-pointed."

Cormier, according to Fight Metric, out-struck Nelson 74-17 (3-0 on takedowns) before claiming a unanimous decision, shutting out Nelson on the judges' scorecards.

"It's nothing against Daniel [Cormier]. Excellent game plan. Played it to a tee. I just wish I had two more rounds. Daniel won that night and he was the better guy, but I definitely would like to do a rematch. I'd fight anyone I've ever lost to."

With Cormier looking to make his light heavyweight debut sometime next year and a chasm separating them in the rankings, it's unlikely 'Big Country' gets his wish anytime soon.

UFC Champions to WSOF Prospects Speak Out: The Truth About Sponsorship in MMA

This particular piece is all about the realities of trying to get and keep good sponsors in MMA, and it contains some eye-opening quotes that I feel you guys will find very interesting.

You're fighting for an MMA organization that is nationally televised. You're on the televised portion and you've managed to get 3 or 4 sponsors together. How much do you think you'll be making, total, from those sponsors? $5,000? $3,000? For many fighters, the real number is below $1,000.

The truth of MMA sponsorship is that the majority of guys aren't making anywhere near what you expect them to be. Since the economic downturn and UFC Sponsor Tax implementation, the amount fighters receive from sponsors has taken a dramatic hit.

This piece is the culmination of several month's work interviewing many fighters to get the most accurate view possible of the sponsor market now and in the past. The topics covered include how much sponsors are really paying, why they are paying less now than in the past, how difficult it is to get cash from sponsors, what factors affect how much sponsors will pay you, and more.

Participants

Along with my MMA Sentinel Radio co-host, Steph Daniels, I interviewed over a dozen fighters to get details on the state of sponsorship in MMA. Those fighters include: A UFC Champion, UFC title contenders, plus top contenders and prospects in the UFC, Bellator and WSOF.

We feel it's important to give an indicator as to the type of fighter we received comments from, and their relevant places in the MMA world. We also wanted to know how much guys are really making, what effect the sponsor tax had, and how common it is for sponsors to fail to pay a fighter. Some fighters agreed to go on the record, others wished to remain anonymous. Some made some comments on the record, and some off.

I made the decision to have every response be anonymous, for the sake of consistency and ensuring I didn't give any clues to you intrepid investigators out there who might try to match anonymous comments up with named fighters.

Every factual statement in this piece is 100% true. The wording of the statements may have been edited to remove references to times, places or other things which may give clues to the identity of the fighter. Other than these measures, nothing you read here has been altered in any way.

Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal looks for revenge this Saturday at Bellator

“He’s just so corny. I mean, tell me the truth – isn’t he corny?” Bellator light heavyweight Muhammed Lawal is talking about his November 2 opponent Emanuel Newton with Cagewriter.

The two used to be training partners and, heading into their bout earlier this year, didn’t exchange much in the way of trash talk. After Newton knocked Lawal out with a surprise spinning back fist and then suggested that “King Mo” was cocky and got what he deserved, all that changed though.

Lawal is fond of saying that he is a prizefighter and fights for money, plain and simple. It is now clear, however, that Newton vs. Lawal II is now a grudge match.

“Honestly, who do you like interviewing more, him or me?”

We’ve spoken with both fighters and certainly don’t have a personal preference but it can’t be argued that few personalities in the world of MMA are more as colorful as Lawal.

“I’m real,” he says.

“I can’t be any other way. I don’t know why Newton is saying the stuff he is about me being cocky. I made a point not to talk about him because he trains with Antonio McKee who I respect. I went in there to fight, we fought and he won. But then he says that I got what I deserved because I’m cocky. Whatever.”

When a fighter comes to the ring wearing a robe, a cape and holding a scepter as Lawal has, it isn’t a far stretch to think of them as arrogant or cocky. “King Mo” won’t apologize for putting on a show but he works as hard as anyone in the game, and says he respects all his opponents.

“People want to say that I had my hands down when I fought Newton and that’s why I got caught,” he scoffs.

“Look at the entire fight. I had my hands up. I know what mistake I made in that fight and it had nothing to do with cockiness. I was loading up on my punches. That was my mistake. I had my hands up and then I lowered them as I loaded up to punch. It’s a mistake I was working on and that I’ve continued to work on.”

The former international wrestler Lawal says he’s fed up with the talk but insists he’s still about his business. “It is still professional. I’ve trained and am going in there as a pro. He can say what he wants but I work hard and prepare well,” Mo says.

If Lawal can get revenge he’ll also get his hands on some Bellator gold – the interim light heavyweight belt. To be precise At the end of the day, the gold and what it can provide for he and his family is still what motivates this self-styled “king.”

“It’s hard to say what my motivation is. Becoming a great fighter, taking care of my family, my loved ones,” Lawal explains.

“That’s what it always has been so I guess that’s what it is still all about. That’s what gets me up in the morning and gets me into the cage.”

NIST to review its cryptographic standards, hopes to regain trust in wake of NSA scandals

Whoever said that there's no such thing as bad press should talk to the NIST -- it says that "recent news reports about classified documents" are hurting its standing in the cryptographic community. The organization is specifically concerned about how these reports have "questioned the integrity of the NIST standards development process" and how this could impact the NIST's ability to develop new algorithms. In a bid to win back the community's trust, the outfit is kicking off a formal review of its development standards, and plans to let the public vet the results.

"We also will bring in an independent organization to conduct a formal review of our standards development approach and to suggest improvements," reads an official statement on the action. "Based on the public comments and independent review, we will update our process as necessary to make sure it meets our goals for openness and transparency, and leads to the most secure, trustworthy guidance practicable." The NIST also pledges to comb through its existing cryptographic achievements to ensure its current processes is up to snuff. It may sound like a big song and dance for some obscure development standards, but the firm says it's essential to maintaining the United States IT infrastructure. "Trust is crucial to the adoption of strong cryptographic algorithms," it says "We're committed to continually earning that trust."
